From this month, it is now possible to configure Variations for all Craftybase projects, not just your Etsy imported ones.
We’ve added a way for you to directly attach variation attributes to your projects: these are the different customisation choices that you typically provide to your customer such as colour, size or finish. You can add as many of these as you like for each project with unlimited options under each, depending on how much granularity you need.
Different combinations of variation attributes can then be saved as your available Variations. A configured variation using the typical attributes above could be: Large + Blue + Oak Stain, for example.
Once created, these variation combinations can be directly associated with your Orders and Manufactures, thus allowing you to track your exact stock levels for every different variant of your products.
Recipes can also be created for each individual Variation, so exact material inventory can be decreased automatically with each manufacture you create.
You can thus now see at a glance which of your Variations are in stock, how many you have made and exactly how much each Variation costs you to produce.
We’ve added a couple of help articles and walkthroughs for this new feature, with the best one to start reading here: What is a Variation?
So, what do you think?
As this is quite a huge change, we’d absolutely love to hear what you think about it! We are still working on lots of little improvements, so if anything doesn’t work the way you think it should or seems confusing let us know and we can look at ways of improving it.
